In a powerful response to the tragic killings in Ogboji, Anambra State has unequivocally condemned the violence and assured residents that “justice will be served without delay.” The government’s firm stance comes in the wake of the shocking incident that has left the community in mourning and sparked widespread calls for accountability.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, addressing the press on Wednesday, described the attack as “a senseless act that strikes at the heart of our shared humanity.”

He emphasized that the state will leave no stone unturned in its pursuit of the perpetrators, vowing that “those responsible will face the full weight of the law.”

According to eyewitness accounts, the Ogboji community was thrown into chaos late Tuesday night when unidentified assailants stormed the area, leaving several people dead and many others injured.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout Anambra and beyond, with residents expressing fear and outrage over the rising insecurity.

Anambra state Government mobilized security agencies

In response, the Anambra State Government has mobilized security agencies to restore order and launch a comprehensive investigation.

Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, confirmed that “multiple tactical units have been deployed to Ogboji to ensure the safety of residents and apprehend those behind this heinous crime.” He urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement.

Community leaders and civil society groups have welcomed the government’s commitment, urging swift action to restore peace and prevent further violence. Chief Nnamdi Okafor, a respected elder in Ogboji, stated:

“We are heartbroken, but we trust that the government will not let our cries for justice go unheard. Our people deserve to live without fear.”

The incident has also drawn national attention, with human rights organizations calling for a thorough investigation and long-term security reforms in the region.
