In a dramatic turn of events that has sent shockwaves through the university community, the Enugu State Police Command has apprehended a 200-level student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in connection with the alleged murder of a female student.

“Tragedy struck the university town of Nsukka as law enforcement officers moved swiftly to arrest the suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending further investigation.”

According to sources within the university, the incident occurred late Monday night at an off-campus residence popular among students.

Neighbours reported hearing raised voices and a commotion before the tragic discovery was made. The victim, a promising undergraduate, was reportedly found lifeless in her apartment, sparking immediate outrage and fear among fellow students.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the arrest, stating:
