1. Terms of Use
By accessing and using Akewe ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.
Akewe is a video sharing platform operated in Nigeria. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Platform. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Akewe in compliance with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations. You may not:
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Post harmful, abusive, threatening, or discriminatory content
- Engage in harassment, bullying, or hate speech targeting individuals or groups
- Upload sexually explicit content involving minors
- Use the platform to promote violence or terrorism
- Manipulate engagement metrics through bots or artificial means
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Distribute malware or engage in phishing
3. Content Policy
You retain ownership of the content you upload to Akewe. By uploading content, you grant Akewe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the Platform.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. Akewe reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines without prior notice.
Content must comply with Nigerian broadcasting standards and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) regulations where applicable.
4. Monetization Terms
Creators who meet eligibility requirements may participate in the Akewe Partner Program. Monetization is subject to the following conditions:
- Revenue share from advertising is 55% to the creator, 45% to Akewe
- Minimum payout threshold is NGN 10,000
- Payments are processed monthly via bank transfer or mobile money
- Tax obligations are the responsibility of the creator in accordance with Nigerian tax law
- Akewe reserves the right to demonetize content that violates advertising guidelines
- Fraudulent activity will result in immediate suspension of monetization and forfeiture of pending earnings
5. Account Termination
Akewe may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms of Service. Grounds for termination include:
- Repeated violations of community guidelines
- Copyright infringement (three-strike policy)
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Extended inactivity (accounts inactive for over 2 years)
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your content will be removed within 30 days.
6. Limitation of Liability
Akewe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- Akewe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Akewe in the 12 months prior to the claim
- Akewe is not responsible for content uploaded by users
- Service availability is not guaranteed and downtime may occur for maintenance
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
